Advancing Excellence in Asset Management and Operations

As part of Zelestra’s journey towards operational excellence, we are pleased to share a new milestone that recognizes the maturity and robustness of our operational practices. Zelestra has been awarded the SolarPower Europe Excellence Marks in both Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Asset Management (AM), acknowledging our alignment with industry best practices in reliability, safety and long-term asset performance. 

The SolarPower Europe Excellence Marks are granted following an independent assessment against a comprehensive set of criteria developed by industry experts. They assess how companies structure and implement asset management frameworks, manage operational risks, embed continuous improvement and ensure consistent performance across assets and geographies. 

At Zelestra, asset management is underpinned by a formal asset management framework that defines clear principles, roles and responsibilities across the organization. This framework is supported by specific asset management objectives and targets, aligned with operational performance, reliability, safety and risk management. These objectives are shared transparently across the company, ensuring that 100% of the workforce is aligned with the goals of the Operational Excellence function. 

All Zelestra projects operate under an annual maintenance plans that defines preventive and corrective actions, responsibilities and follow-up mechanisms. This structured approach ensures that risks and performance gaps are identified early and addressed in a systematic and traceable manner. 

A key enabler of consistency, awareness and continuous improvement is the use of digital asset management tools. Zelestra has integrated its O&M procedures and guidelines into FRACTTAL, a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), which supports planning, monitoring and execution of maintenance activities across the portfolio. Awareness and training on O&M procedures are delivered through the implementation and use of the CMMS, ensuring consistent application of asset management practices across teams and sites. 

Continuous improvement is a core objective of Zelestra’s Operational Excellence (OE) department, which has been expanded across all Business Units to ensure that corporate O&M excellence guidelines are effectively implemented at regional, local and site level. The OE team holds biweekly “Lessons Learnt” sessions together with the Technical Department, during which performance insights are reviewed, and preventive and corrective actions are defined and tracked, reinforcing a culture of learning and improvement. 

At Zelestra, the pursuit of operational excellence is a constant goal. Every year, we launch strategic projects focused on improving productivity and optimizing operational efficiency. These initiatives allow us to innovate processes, reduce waste, and ensure that every resource is used intelligently, contributing to the sustainability and competitiveness of our business. 

Safety is the cornerstone of everything we do in Zelestra. We make sure every operation is carried out under the highest protection standards, safeguarding the integrity of people, assets, and the environment. We believe that safe operations are not just a requirement but a shared responsibility that strengthens trust and commitment with our teams and communities. 

The effectiveness of asset management practices is regularly assessed through internal and external audits and site visits. FRACTTAL CMMS also functions as a tool for internal performance audits, providing real-time visibility of key maintenance and reliability indicators. These reviews and audits help ensure compliance with internal standards, identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen asset integrity over time. 

While certified asset management practices are currently applied to part of Zelestra’s operational portfolio, the company is actively working to progressively expand their coverage, in line with portfolio growth and its commitment to best-in-class operational standards. 

The SolarPower Europe Excellence Marks in O&M and Asset Management reflect not only the robustness of Zelestra’s systems and processes, but also the collective effort of our teams to operate assets safely, reliably and efficiently. They represent another step forward in our ambition to deliver renewable energy solutions with excellence at their core.
